New Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer

The new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer has arrived, and despite previous bad experiences with getting prematurely excited by trailers, this looks great. Proper Indiana Jones stuff.

I have seen every Indy film in the cinema – each of the first three multiple times and the fourth one just once. I won’t talk about that one; just suffice to say I am pleased it is not the final chapter.

The Dial of Destiny trailer has Indy talking about retiring, and maybe this time, it’s true. Then his goddaughter Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) talks about the dial of destiny, and we learn it was an obsession for her father. Then the baddies are introduced. As is often the case, they are Nazis. As is also often the case, the bad guys are played by  Mads Mikkelsen and Boyd Holbrook.

There are a couple of classic-looking chases and a hint that the dial of destiny can possibly affect time. Damned intriguing stuff.

If you are here, you are presumably looking to watch the trailer, so there is no real need to talk much more about it. Now for some facts.

Indian Jones and the Dial of Destiny release date and other tidbits

The trailer was released as part of Star Wars Celebration Europe. As a fan and a Londoner, I’m gutted I’m not there instead of being stuck on the beach in Thailand. If your life is as hellish as mine, you can watch all action at www.starwars.com.

It’s directed by James Mangold and will feature the music of the legendary John Williams.

The Dial of Destiny will premiere at Cannes in May. It will then be on general release on the 30th of June. That currently feels like years away, so thank god there is a trailer to tide us all over.

Here you go.
