Happy robot Christmas and New Year

Happy Christmas from all of us here at The Word of Ward! I hope you have a good and downright merry one. This year’s Xmas theme is robots. This is partly down to my getting a load of Asimov robot books for Christmas, partly because I am always reminded of Futurama’s version of Christmas where Santa is a killer robot, but mostly because a short video from Boston Dynamics with robots for reindeer appearing in my media feed.

I know people are nervous about the impending robot-geddon but I am something of an optimistic fatalist who loves a bit of chaos. If something seems weird or dangerous – poke it and see what happens after making sure someone is a bit nearer. In D&D, I always play Chaotic Neutral. So let’s worship and venerate our soon to be robot masters! It is bound to turn out well.

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! I’m sure 2019 will be great. Did you know that Akira, Blade Runner and the Running man were all set in 2019? So if next year is better than predicted by all these pessimistic film, things are looking up. Now here are some cute robotic reindeer pulling a female Santa. (What a great sentence!)
