I went to Koh Larn and forgot to blog
I haven’t posted a blog for a while. Sorry. I have numerous reason and lame excuses however: I went to a place called Koh Larn, I was reading, I have been writing more fiction, I forgot. Take your pick. Apologies from all senior management here at Word of Ward Towers.
Koh Larn
I live in Thailand, it is hot and I am lazy and cheap. So it is always a plus when there is somewhere nearby that is chilled and I can get a large plate of decent food for under a quid. Living in Bangkok and not wanting to fly or spend half a day on a train or risk almost certain death in a minivan (seriously not recommended), Mrs WOW and I wanted somewhere nearby to visit for 4 or 5 days. Normally we go to a place called Koh Samet as that is nearby and gorgeous. This time we thought we would try Koh Larn, which is even closer and easier to get to. As you can see from the picture above it is really nice. It is 45-minute ferry ride from a place called Pattaya (google it and form your own opinions on the place), so it fills up rather alarmingly with day trippers. However, some beaches are still quite nice and if you spend the night you can wake up to the above. It is currently rainy season here though and I imagine peak tourist time will probably be horrendous.
I was reading
I started Book 7 of the Expanse, Persepolis Rising, and that has taken up a lot of my time. It was totally worth it though. Fucking love the Expanse! Go Rocinante!
I have been writing more fiction
This is the main thing dominating my time outside of the non-fiction I write all day at work. I have been trying to be strict and set more targets. Alarmingly, the thing I am writing is now 130,000 words long. Which is indulgent but it is fantasy, so probably ok.
I forgot
I turned 46. I conveniently forget things.
I will endeavour to write more in the future but I think these are pretty powerful arguments as to why I haven’t done much recently on this awesome site. Thanks to ad blockers, the money drop from lack of content has not really been all that noticeable. This is now a labour of slightly lethargic love.
